Missing teeth can be a problem for your dental health and your own personal well being. Dental implants can be used in a variety of situations to help replace missing teeth. Here at Dr Rez Dental in Liverpool, we will be able to help replace your missing teeth to restore your smile and improve your confidence, however your teeth came to be missing. A dental implant can be used to support the most natural looking tooth replacement and can dramatically improve your smile, eating and confidence.
A dental implant replaces the root of a tooth and it can be used to hold the visible part of the tooth, known as the crown.
A single implant is needed to replace a single tooth, but not every missing tooth needs to have an implant beneath it – a bridge can be used, supported by several dental implants, to replace many teeth.
At Dr Rez we offer a full range of dental implant solutions including:
Single tooth dental implant
Multiple teeth dental implants
All of your teeth dental implants
Denture stabilisation with dental implants
A dental implant comes in two parts. The first is the artificial root - a threaded, titanium screw - which has a roughened surface to promote a very strong union between its surface and the bone of the jaw.
It can be placed in either the upper or lower jaw and in time will bond with the jawbone. The second part is what is attached to the dental implant root.
At Dr Rez Dental in Liverpool, we use a range of implant systems, each with a proven track record in the implantology field.
The dental implant stands alone, without relying on healthy adjacent teeth being ground down for a crown. Nor does it have to link to the neighbouring teeth in any way.
An implant can actually withstand more load than a normal tooth. The dental implant is placed when the gums have healed following a dental extraction.
When inserted into an accurately created hole in the jawbone a strong union forms between the titanium and the patient’s native bone. This begins at about two weeks following insertion and continues to increase in strength until around six weeks when the screw can be used to support one or more teeth.
I recently visited this dental practice for the first time and was attended by Adam. I have always been scared of going to the dentist, but Adam made the process very smooth and put me at ease throughout. The entire place is meticulously organized and clean, which helped to further ease my nerves. The receptionist was also lovely and welcoming, making for an all-around great experience. I highly recommend this dental practice to anyone in need of a caring and professional dentist!

We are one of the few UK dentists to use a CBCT scanner. That’s cutting-edge digital technology that makes your dental implant treatment faster and safer while ensuring a high level of accuracy.
Cone Beam CT scanning, or CBCT, is completely non-invasive, super-fast dental imaging technology that helps your dentist accurately plan your treatment. Giving a more detailed impression of your mouth than a normal X-ray, this specialist 3D scanner allows for a complete evaluation of your teeth, bone, and soft tissue. This makes it particularly helpful for planning detailed dental procedures, including implants, root canals and extractions.

Mrs D came to us after years of problems with a failing bridge. The worry of unreliable teeth was really starting to affect day to day life. She was fed up with having the bridge re-cemented again and again at her previous dentist. Mrs D wanted a more permanent solution so she could eat out or go abroad without having to think twice about her teeth.
As it had been many years since her tooth was removed, Dr Rez Dental discovered significant bone loss during her implant assessment. The first stage of treatment was to address this with a bone graft and then later, place a single unit dental implant.
Mrs D is now a Denplan patient at our Liverpool practice, and when we asked her two years on what she thought about her dental implant, she summed it up perfectly. “I don’t have to think about it! I forget it’s even there!”
“My daughter recommended Dr Rez to me after she had FASTBRACES® at his practice. I needed two dental implants, and I couldn't be happier with the treatment and the result. All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming, and Rez explains everything so clearly but in a way that isn't at all patronising. I was really apprehensive about having implants before I came here but the whole process was actually quite enjoyable! Everybody in this practice goes above and beyond and really makes you feel at ease.”

For routine cases, from the time of implant insertion to the time of placing the first tooth, treatment times can vary between six weeks and six months. Good solid bone will reduce treatment time, whilst more time and care must be taken with poor bone, which can therefore extend treatment times.
There isn’t a standard answer to how much implants will cost because the work required is tailored to your needs. Prices for dental implants at Dr Rez Dental start from £3,000 and vary depending on how many implants you need and whether you need any treatment prior to placement (such as a bone graft). We understand that the price of dental implants can be daunting and we are pleased to offer a range of finance options to help with the cost.
For most dental implant-supported teeth you will be able to clean around each supporting implant by brushing and flossing in just the same way that you would around your own teeth. In some areas we recommend flossing, interdental toothbrushes and other cleaning aids to maintain excellent oral hygiene.
For the first few months after the dental implants are placed, your dentist may ask to see you more frequently. However, once they are satisfied your treatment is performing as planned, ongoing care will be similar to patients with natural teeth.
If looked after correctly, dental implants will last for many decades. At Dr Rez Dental in Liverpool we use the high quality Straumann® dental implant system which has proved to last a lifetime, achieving fantastic results for our patients.
Dr Rez has a specialist interest in implantology and has completed a number of postgraduate qualifications. Rez has a wealth of experience, and currently places dental implants for practices across the north west of the UK. Then, there is our fabulous nurse Jenny, who is our skilled implant nurse and trainer. An ambassador for the ADI (Association of Dental Implantology), Jenny has delivered presentations at several conferences.
The most important visit is the initial consultation. This is when Dr Rez will go through a series of questions regarding your previous dental and medical histories. This will help to determine if dental implants are the best option for you.
If you are in good general health, dental implants are likely to be a suitable option for the replacement of your missing teeth. However, habits such as heavy drinking and smoking can compromise the initial healing time and have a detrimental effect on the long-term health of gum and bone surrounding each implant.
