This procedure replaces an entire row of teeth along the top or bottom jaw. Rather than replacing each tooth individually, the dentist will place 4 (or 6) implant posts into the jaw which will then act as anchors for a brand new set of teeth. You will be assigned a treatment coordinator who will be your first point of contact for any questions or concerns throughout treatment. We also run an out of hours phone and WhatsApp service for implant patients so you are always able to contact us.

You’ll start your All-on-4 journey with an appointment at our Liverpool clinic, where your dentist will carry out a full oral health assessment and check your suitability for the full mouth dental implant procedure.
Scanning for accuracy
We’ll then assess your bone quality and the general area of the tooth/teeth replacement and take a 3D digital scan of the surrounding bone. You may have a scan on our innovative CBCT machine, for a more accurate evaluation of the area where the dental implants are needed.
Placing your implants
Under local anaesthetic, your dentist will place the titanium dental implant into a pre-drilled hole. We’ll then leave the area to heal for eight weeks or so, enabling the implant to integrate with your jawbone. Temporary restorations will be placed in the meantime, so you’re never without a smile.
The final touches of your new smile
Once healed, you’ll return to our Liverpool practice to have your custom-made crown fitted.

This can vary quite a bit from patient to patient, as some will require treatment to prepare the area for implant placement. A really good starting point is four months from start to finish, but this can vary according to the complexity of the case. During your first appointment, we’ll make a tailored treatment plan to ensure we give you a long-lasting teeth replacement to suit your budget.
As with any medical procedure, a certain amount of discomfort is to be expected. Most patients will experience moderate swelling and discomfort in the days following placement, which can be managed with over-the-counter painkillers.
Good oral hygiene is important to help maintain the longevity of your All-on-4 dental implants. Brush and floss your teeth regularly, and visit us in practice in Liverpool for regular dental check-ups and hygienist treatments.
If cared for correctly, All-on-4 implants are expected to last 20 years or longer. After placement, you will need to come into our Liverpool practice at least every six months for check-ups, hygiene appointments and maintenance.
